Lowell Flooding Print E-mail
Written by Mark Fabrizio Jr.
Monday, 15 May 2006

This weekend I took off to help my friends film a movie about BigFoot. When I left, it had been raining for a few days straight, and when I returned, the rain hadn't stopped and the weather calls for another couple days of rain... gross. Anyway, I got home last night and didn't see anything, but when I woke up today, I realized that Lowell is on the verge of some bad flooding ... I took some pics in my parking lot to show what I'm talking about... crazy stuff. If I get any more pics, I'll post them here.

Read on to see a video clip of my friend Lex's band Gitanes Pales . They play some sweet gypsy jazz.  The footage was from a show they played at the All Asia club in Cambridge, MA.  The film was shot and edited by Phil Santoro.

Google Translations Print E-mail
Written by Mark Fabrizio Jr.
Wednesday, 05 April 2006

I added nifty Google translation flags to the site (top left column). Very cool stuff. Not sure if it makes any sense once translated though. For instance, I translated the blog page to German and French and then copied the top paragraph to babelfish.altavista.com and translated it back to english. Here are my results...

German:

"Welcomely to blog the developer. They find somewhat merry material, to something nerdy material, something other material..., whatever. Do not take a view around, we worry. If you downloaden any free open-pour-often-commodity-felt (you receive it), to our account Paypal to donate (on left) or at least, form an advised effort, in the products to interest so durchdacht announced from Google at the lower surface of the side."

 French:

"Welcome with the blog of the realizer. You will find a certain substance funny, a certain substance nerdy, another substance... no matter what. Throw a glance around, us do not occupy themselves. If you to download any software open-source to feel free (to obtain) to give our Paypal counts (left side the left), or at the very least, to do one to concert effort to take interest for so pensive product to announce by Google in bottom the bottom page."

As the realizer, I guess I realize that I should start writing very gramatically correct entries. Feel free to throw a glance around because we do not occupy ourselves, we worry.

* my apologies to people translating this particular entry.  It probably doesn't make a lick of sense.

Joomla! myContent Component Released Print E-mail

What is it and why?

I wrote this component to give Joomla! enabled users a little more control over their content from the frontend.

  • Authors can now see all their content in one list, which means they can edit unpublished items from the front end.

  • If they have access to publish items, they publish content with one click from the content list on the front.

  • Allows users to create a content item for any section, instead of having to have multiple links from the usermenu.
